About Us
Our Story
Geri Plus Ltd. was founded in 2024 by Jennifer Oteng out of a shared passion for improving the way we understand, support, and care for older adults.
Geri Plus was created in response to a growing need for practical, evidence-based education and support for older adults, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. While many individuals work with and care for seniors, the complexities of aging and common geriatric syndromes are not always well understood.
At Geri Plus, we believe that quality senior care requires more than experience alone. It requires current knowledge, evidence-based practice, compassion, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of the unique needs of older adults.
Our goal is to bridge gaps in knowledge by providing accessible, practical, and innovative education and consulting services that empower healthcare professionals, organizations, caregivers, families, and older adults.
Through our programs and services, Geri Plus focuses on promoting dignity, independence, quality of life, and informed decision-making while helping those who care for older adults feel more confident and equipped to meet their needs.
Geri Plus — bringing knowledge, experience, and evidence together to support better aging and better senior care.
As lovers of academics and research, they identified that senior care needs to incorporate both experience and evidence-based interventions. Geri Plus Ltd. was established to enhance the lives of older adults and be an invaluable resource to those that interact with and provide direct care to seniors. Together, we strive to advocate for senior citizens and reinforce that older adults truly deserve better.

Co-Founder & Lead Consultant
With over 24 years of experience as a registered nurse, my career has encompassed a diverse array of healthcare settings, including acute care, urology, recovery, community nursing, and long-term care facilities. My tenure as a community nurse in England and Canada provided invaluable insight into the unique health challenges faced by seniors, fostering a deep-rooted passion for advocating for their well-being. As a masters prepared nurse, Nurse Continence Advisor (NCA) and Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC), I find fulfillment in witnessing seniors regain confidence and independence through improved bladder health.
Additionally, my role as an educator, teaching baccalaureate student nurses at Mount Royal University and addressing pelvic floor dysfunction with baccalaureate student nurses at the University of Calgary, reflects my commitment to sharing knowledge and fostering excellence in healthcare practice. Teaching Personal Support Workers (PSWs) classes at the college level further underscores my dedication to empowering future generations of healthcare professionals.
Witnessing the positive impact that high-quality care can have on seniors' lives fuels my commitment to promoting ongoing education and training within the healthcare community. By imparting clinical excellence to fellow healthcare professionals and the general public, I strive to enhance the quality of life for seniors, enabling them to lead more comfortable and fulfilling lives. This dedication underscores my belief in the transformative power of compassionate and proficient healthcare provision in fostering the well-being of our senior population.

Founder & Lead Consultant
I have had the privilege of building my career in geriatric healthcare as a Registered Nurse for more than 20 years. My experience spans geriatrics, long-term care, internal medicine, complex continuing care, community-based geriatric care, continence care, and legal nurse consulting.
My connection to senior care began before I became a nurse. I worked as a dietary aide and Personal Support Worker in long-term care and retirement homes, where I had the opportunity to sit with older adults, listen to their stories, and learn about the unique needs and experiences that come with aging. Those early experiences shaped my decision to pursue nursing and specialize in aging.
One of the unique aspects of my journey is that I didn’t find geriatrics — geriatrics found me. What began as a career path became a genuine passion and continues to influence the work I do today.
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Nursing with a specialization in Aging from the University of Toronto. I am a Gerontological Nursing Certified (GNC(C)) nurse, Nurse Continence Advisor (NCA), and certified Dementia Care Provider (CDCP). These areas of expertise have strengthened my ability to support older adults experiencing complex health and geriatric issues.
Today, I lead an interprofessional team providing comprehensive geriatric assessments to seniors in the community and teach clinical and theory courses to nursing students at the college level.
I founded Geri Plus Ltd. to bring my clinical experience, education, and passion for geriatrics to a broader audience. Through practical, evidence-based education and consulting, Geri Plus supports healthcare professionals, organizations, caregivers, families, and older adults in better understanding and navigating the challenges of aging.
My goal is to bridge the gap between knowledge and care — helping those who support older adults feel more informed, confident, and equipped to make a difference.
