Our Story
Geri Plus Ltd. is a consultancy business focused on providing education and consulting on key
issues facing seniors and their caregivers. We provide services to seniors, caregivers, healthcare
providers, service providers, as well as small and large businesses.
Geri Plus Ltd. was created out of recognition that the population is aging and there is an urgent
need for more expertise in this specialized area.
As a company, we strive to improve the way in which senior care is delivered in various communities.
We aim to increase awareness of the various health and social issues facing seniors and increase
knowledge and confidence in those delivering care and services to this population.
Co-founders Carolyn and Jennifer created Geri Plus Ltd in 2024 after meeting and discovering a shared love and passion towards the understanding of aging issues. Having both had extensive experience and expertise in senior care, they understood the complexities and challenges that the aging process brings to individuals, caregivers, families, and healthcare providers.
As lovers of academics and research, they identified that senior care needs to incorporate both experience and evidence-based interventions. Geri Plus Ltd. was established to enhance the lives of older adults and be an invaluable resource to those that interact with and provide direct care to seniors. Together, we strive to advocate for senior citizens and reinforce that older adults truly deserve better.

With over 24 years of experience as a registered nurse, my career has encompassed a diverse array of healthcare settings, including acute care, urology, recovery, community nursing, and long-term care facilities. My tenure as a community nurse in England and Canada provided invaluable insight into the unique health challenges faced by seniors, fostering a deep-rooted passion for advocating for their well-being. As a masters prepared nurse, Nurse Continence Advisor (NCA) and Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC), I find fulfillment in witnessing seniors regain confidence and independence through improved bladder health.
Additionally, my role as an educator, teaching baccalaureate student nurses at Mount Royal University and addressing pelvic floor dysfunction with baccalaureate student nurses at the University of Calgary, reflects my commitment to sharing knowledge and fostering excellence in healthcare practice. Teaching Personal Support Workers (PSWs) classes at the college level further underscores my dedication to empowering future generations of healthcare professionals.
Witnessing the positive impact that high-quality care can have on seniors' lives fuels my commitment to promoting ongoing education and training within the healthcare community. By imparting clinical excellence to fellow healthcare professionals and the general public, I strive to enhance the quality of life for seniors, enabling them to lead more comfortable and fulfilling lives. This dedication underscores my belief in the transformative power of compassionate and proficient healthcare provision in fostering the well-being of our senior population.

I have had the privilege of building my career in Geriatric healthcare as a Registered Nurse 18+ years. My credentials include a Master’s degree in Clinical Nursing and a specialization in Aging from the University of Toronto. My nursing experience ranges from Geriatrics to long-term care, general internal medicine to complex continuing care and legal nurse consulting. My experience also includes working as a dietary aide and as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) in nursing homes. It was through these roles that I learned the fundamentals of nursing. As a result, I realized I was interested in working in a field that focuses on mitigating issues that affect seniors.
One of the unique aspects of my journey is that I didn’t find Geriatrics. It was Geriatrics that found me, and now I embrace it as a true passion of mine. I felt honoured to sit with and listen to the stories of the seniors I worked with in my first few years of long-term care, and I learned how to support them in various ways. It was during these formative years that I became aware of the possibilities and rewards of serving this unique population.
The impact of my experiences shaped my decision to enter nursing and specialize in aging. In 2014, I received a designation in Gerontological nursing through the Canadian Nurses Association (CNCA) and completed the Nurse Continence Advisor (NCA) certification in 2017, which provided me with the skills and knowledge to diagnose and address issues related to bladder and bowel issues including urinary and fecal incontinence, constipation and urinary tract infections.
